On July 4th 2022, just after 10am, Robert Crimo III opened fire on a 4th of July Parade from the rooftop of Ross Cosmetics in his hometown of Highland Park, IL. Seven people were left dead and dozens more wounded.
Main Street remained closed for a week as law enforcement agencies investigated and cleared the scene. In this time the community constructed several memorials near the site and began to search for ways to heal.
